1.Lake Palace

When it comes to Top Udaipur visiting places to visit, The Lake Places come, the lake palace comes on the top, because of its Fantastic Atmosphere. The Lake Palace in Udaipur is located on the Jag Niwas, it is an Island on a sprawling 1.5-hectare land. This amazing structure was built on the Lake Pichola by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1734. Now this palace for the royalty of Udaipur has now been converted into a heritage hotel.

Still, After so many years, it looks like a fairytale Kingdom, the craftsmanship, the textile, and the aesthetic handicrafts keep its aura live and beautiful. The sunset from this place looks just magical. 

This elegant white marble palace is a fantasy as it arises softly from the blue waters. 4 acres of rock have been used to lay the foundation of this palace and was known as Jag Niwas after its founder.

2.Fateh Sagar Lake

History :-

Fateh Sagar is one of the 2nd largest lakes in the city, it has to be on the list of Top Udaipur visiting places as it is located on the northern side of Lake Pichola and is just opposite the entrance to Moti Magri Mahal. This Lake is an Artificial lake that was built but Maharana Jai Singh in 1678 and got its name from Maharana Fateh Singh. This waterbody has a depth of 11.5 meters and extends 2.4 km in length and 1.6 km in breadth.

What to expect?

There are three intake channels and one overflow channel in the lake that actually comes into play during the monsoon season. There is 3 island in the lake and all three can be reached via boat very easily. It also has a restaurant in the shape of a boat and a garden known as Nehru Park. It also had a small zoo and a picnic spot for the local people.

The second island in the lake has been converted into a beautiful garden with water-jet fountains and is looked after by the government of the state. 

The third island is managed by the Udaipur Solar Observatory which is known as the best solar observing site in Asia and that’s very interesting for small kids and Solar enthusiasts.

Yes, 300 years!! This place started building when the Maharana Udai Singh II was the Maharaj of Udaipur.

This place it the most beautiful and amazing lake built ever, in fact, it is the reason y Udaipur is known as the city of lake, this lake was built in 1362 and is 3.5 km deep and 5k wide, this lake is essential tourist and local attraction since it is so beautiful.

This lake is a must-visit from the list of Udaipur visiting places, this lake has never been empty, in the morning it all very quiet and you can come here to have a good hot tea with your friends and family, and in the night this lake takes whole new character, as it is surrounded but the lit-up palaces around it, the lightings make look lake so beautiful, just wow!

5.Ekligji Temple

History :- 

Ekligji temple is one of the famous and historical temples in Rajasthan, so it has to be in the list of Udaipur visiting places, this temple is situated 22km north of Udaipur, This double-storied temple looks magnificent with its pyramidal style roof and unique carved tower. The outer walls of the temple are stretched, as the steps that lower touching the serene waters.

This temple was built in 734 A.D. by Bappa Rawal, Eklingji is purported to have been the ruling idol of Mewar rulers. This temple is a Shiva temple, so as entering the temple you will see a silver Nandi murti, and there are two other images of Nandi in black stone and brass stone, the temple is filled will scandal-wood fragrances and is known for a striking four-faced idol of Eklingji (Lord Shiva) that is made out of black marble. Its height ranges around 50 feet and its four faces depict four forms of Lord Shiva.

The Shivaling is covered with silver made snake which is a famous tourist place.

6.Vintage Car Museum, Udaipur

This Vintage Museum in Udaipur is to look for, this vintage museum is a car collection of Maharaja of Mewar, these cars are 70+ years old, but they have been looked after and restored over the years, to keep the history alive.

This museum was made public in the year 2000 and was made available for both local and Tourists, this collection is kept in Mewar State Motor Garage. This garage is semi-circular in shape and has a garden restaurant.

There is a Shell petrol pump inside the garage and is still working, as this garage was built when only the Maharanas of Mewar had owned the cars.

7.Jaisamand Lake

Jaisamand Lake is spread across 100 Sq. Km, and is the second-largest artificial lake in the country after Govind Ballabh Pant Sagar. It is surrounded by Jaisamand Wildlife sanctuary, which has various varieties of wild animals. 

The lake was constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh in the 17th century, to be more precise in 1685, while he was building a dam across the Gomti river. This lake as two islands big island is known as “Baba ka Nagar” and the smaller one is known as Piari, to the north of the lake it has a palace with a courtyard and has 12 pillars to its south, 

There is also a massive bund at the height of over 1200ft on the lake. The Jaisamand Lake is clean, beautiful and a nature lover’s real paradise. Away from the turmoil of the city, this place of utmost peace is a must-visit.

8.Jagdish Temple

Jagdish Temple is situated in Udaipur and one of the best architectural works has been done on this temple, as this temple was built by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1651, its architecture is very unique and rare.

This temple has finely carved pillars, beautifully decorated ceilings, gorgeously painted walls, and spacious halls and corridors. This temple is 3 story building, and there are 50 pillars on its 1st and 3rd floor of this pyramid temple.

The main Temple is, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and is reached by climbing 32 marble steps and it is encircled by minor shrines of Lord Ganesha, Sun God, Goddess Shakti, and Lord Shiva respectively. This whole construction of this temple cost around 1.5 million rupees.

Sajjangarh palace was built by Maharana Sajjan Singh in 1884, and the location of this palace is just outside Udaipur city, the reason to build this palace outside the city was to be able to look for the clouds and for the rainy season to come and to monitor them better.

This palace is an amazing architectural monument, as its build on a certain height and the best part is the view from its windows! What a view! Monsoon Palace looks down at Lake Pichola and beyond the lake is a panoramic, birds-eye view of the city of Udaipur embraced by the Aravalli range. This palace had to be on the list of top Udaipur visiting places.
